Lost or Found a Pet in Chennai?
When a pet goes missing, clear details and quick, careful sharing can help the community respond. ANUBUCURA includes a Lost & Found feature for signed-in users to create reports and browse open reports for Chennai.
Open ANUBUCURAAfter signing in, open the Lost & Found feature in the app. Choose whether you are reporting a lost pet or a pet you have found, then share the information you can safely provide.
How to create a useful lost-pet report
- Choose the report type. Select Lost if your pet is missing, or Found if you have located a pet that may belong to someone.
- Describe the pet clearly. Add the species, colour or markings, and any recognisable details. Include the pet's name or breed when known.
- Enter the Chennai area and date. Use the last-seen area and the best date or estimate you have. Avoid publishing your home address.
- Add a photo if safe to do so. A clear photo may help people recognise the animal. Images are optional.
- Review your contact choice. Share a contact method publicly only when you intentionally select the share-contact option.
- Keep the report current. Check your reports and update the status when the pet is reunited or the report no longer needs to remain open.
If you have found a pet
Keep a safe distance if the animal is frightened or injured. Avoid putting yourself or the pet in danger, and seek help from a qualified local animal-care professional when needed. Note the general area and time found, and avoid publishing identifying information that could be used by someone making a false ownership claim.
Before handing a pet over, ask the claimant to describe distinguishing features or provide photographs. Arrange any handover in a safe public location and consider involving a trusted local animal-welfare group or veterinary professional.
Privacy and safety tips
- Do not share passwords, one-time passcodes, identity documents or your exact home address in a public report.
- Be careful with anyone demanding money before providing credible details about the pet.
- Use the report's contact-sharing choice deliberately, and keep descriptions factual and respectful.
- For an injured animal or an immediate safety concern, contact appropriate local emergency or animal-welfare services rather than relying only on an online report.
